Support: unable to run gas and piston engine cdrom

hello.. there..

well my problem is that after installing and patching the exe of both software(gas and piston engine) I enter and once I get the main screen where I can choose which lesson I want to run..as soon as .i select any of them I get a sign saying the macromedia projector has a problem and afterwards i am out of the software.

i tried by updating the macromedia projector, even tried to find another projector with no luck..any idea what can i do? can the patch be the issue maybe? i have no clue..i have windows 10 pro. ......

Hi,

What version of the CBTs do you have? You check the version number by viewing the ini files (GE.ini and PE.ini) in the system folder on each CD-ROM.

Could you send us a System Information Files so we can look for the cause of the problem.

To make a System Information File:
1) Click START - Run (or hold the Windows key and press R).
2) Type 'msinfo32' and click OK. This will open MSInfo.
3) From the drop-down menu, choose 'Save'. Name your file [your name].nfo, and save it.
4) If you have Winzip, zip the nfo file; this will reduce the size to only a few KB.

i send you the file you asked for.. it is weird.. then i can get to the main screen where you can choose the lesson.. and even more.. a few times i was able to run some lesson randomly..very strange situation, then the macromedia player crashed

Hi,

The software is crashing with an error in module IML32.dll. This file is part of the Shockwave plugin, but the CD-ROMs should not require any plugins to run.

1) Try updating / removing the Adobe Shockwave plugin.
2) Try the software in compatibility mode.

We cannot replicate this error on our test PCs so I can't test this, but installing QuickTime has removed this error for some people with similar issues.

I appreciate your help and as you said I have updated shockwave player,
tried compatibility mode and have installed quicktime

although i managed to run some lessons i could not before.. the problem is not solved,,,the player is still crashing

any other ideas?

I found the solution !!!

1.- Right Click on the EXE, then select properties
2.- Go to compatibility and Check: Run Program in compatibility mode
3.- Select Windows 95
4.- Don't run in admin mode

i am going to try it, my new issue, are problems with PPL..i install them,and use the patch from the website, and i get a run sript error and can´t see them., i have the same problem with both windows 7 and 10.

Thanks a lot it worked!! both.
now again still having trouble with the PPL cd rom. I install it, use the patch from the website and get this error.

Script runtime error: Property not found

and can´t run anything, automatically close the application

any thoughts about it???

Hi,

It sounds like you have an older version of the CBT that is not compatible with the fixed exe; what version of the PPL CBT do you have? (You should find a .ini file in the system folder - this will have the CBT version number in it).
